Gene Ehrbar’s music is a blend of soulful melodies and intricate rhythms, rooted in funk and Americana. With influences ranging from classic soul and funk to contemporary pop and electronica, Gene crafts songs that are both timeless and refreshingly unique.
Gene’s vocals and guitar power the live shows of Dr. Spaceman, Portland’s David Bowie tribute, and The Walkaways, Portland’s Phish-covers-cover band.
In addition to singing and guitar-ing, Gene regularly posts up as DJ Gene Machine, playing a mix of classic hip hop, funk, and soul.
Gene’s vocal cords, guts, and fingers are in the Pacific Northwest, but his heart is in New Orleans.
